Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Story Studio AI (the "Service"), the User accepts and agrees to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If the User does not agree to these Terms of Service, the User must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Story Studio AI is an AI-powered platform that enables users to create illustrated stories through text and image generation. Our Service operates on a pay-per-use credit system where users purchase credits to generate content.

2.1 Service Features

• AI-powered story text generation
• AI-powered illustration generation
• Character management and customization
• Project organization and storage
• PDF export functionality
• Audio narration generation

3. User Accounts

3.1 Age Requirement & Legal Capacity

The User must be 18 years of age or older to use this Service. Story Studio AI does not permit minors to use the Service. If a parent, legal guardian, or device owner allows a minor to access the Service, they expressly accept full legal and financial responsibility for all actions taken by the minor, including any content generated and any terms violated. By creating an account, the User represents and warrants that they are at least 18 years old and possess the legal capacity to enter into this binding agreement.

3.2 Account Responsibilities

To use the Service, the User must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. The User is responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of the User's account credentials
• All activities that occur under the User's account
• Notifying Story Studio AI immediately of any unauthorized access
• Ensuring the User's account information is accurate and up-to-date

4. Credits & Payment

4.1 Credit System

The Service operates on a pay-per-use credit model:

• Credits never expire — Purchased credits remain in the User's account indefinitely
• Credits are consumed when the User generates AI content (text or images)
• Credit cost varies by content type and complexity
• The User can view the User's credit balance at any time in the User's dashboard

4.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Story Studio AI does not store credit card information on its servers.

5. Content Ownership

5.1 User Content

The User retains all ownership rights to the stories, characters, and creative content the User generates using the Service. Story Studio AI does not claim any ownership over User-generated content.

5.2 License to Operate

By using the Service, the User grants Story Studio AI a limited license to store, process, and display the User's content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to the User.

5.3 AI-Generated Content

Content generated by third-party AI models is provided to the User for the User's use. AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection in some jurisdictions. The User is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

6. Account Termination

6.1 User-Initiated Deletion

The User may delete the User's account at any time through the User's Profile page. Upon deletion:

• The account will be deactivated
• Unused credits will be forfeited
• User data will be retained for a period as required by law
• The User can contact Story Studio AI to request complete data deletion

6.2 Service-Initiated Termination

Story Studio AI reserves the right to suspend or terminate a User's account if the User:

• The User violates these Terms of Service
• Uses the Service for prohibited purposes
• Engages in fraudulent or abusive behavior
• Fails to pay for services rendered

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Freedom from viruses or harmful components
• Suitability for any particular purpose

7.1 AI Limitations

AI-generated content may contain errors, inconsistencies, or unexpected results. The User is responsible for reviewing and verifying all generated content before use. Story Studio AI does not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or appropriateness of AI outputs.

8. Intermediary Service & User Responsibility

Story Studio AI operates strictly as an intermediary infrastructure provider. The Platform provides creative tools that connect to independent, third-party Artificial Intelligence (AI) APIs. We act purely as a conduit—analogous to a word processor, a web browser, or a digital canvas—facilitating the User's access to these third-party technologies.

8.1 User as Sole Author, Creator, and Publisher

AI models generate content algorithmically based exclusively on User-provided inputs, parameters, and prompts. The Platform does not initiate the creation of, select, or modify the generated content. The User acts as the sole author, creator, and publisher of any and all content generated using the Service. Because the Service provides a private workspace for unpublished drafts and personal creations, the Platform does not actively monitor, pre-screen, or assume any editorial control over the content generated.

8.2 Acceptable Use & Legal Compliance

The User expressly agrees that they are entirely responsible for their conduct and all content they generate. The User warrants that they will not use the Service to:

• Generate, store, or distribute any material that violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation;
• Create content that infringes upon the copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or privacy rights of any third party;
• Generate defamatory, malicious, tortious, or inherently unlawful material;
• Attempt to bypass any security measures, rate limits, or safety policies implemented by the third-party API providers.

Story Studio AI reserves the right to terminate the account of any User found to be using the platform for unlawful purposes. However, the existence of these rules does not create an obligation or duty for the Platform to proactively monitor, filter, or prevent such conduct. The User acknowledges that any illegal or infringing creation is solely their own independent action, and the Platform cannot be held liable for a User's breach of these terms.

8.3 Full Assumption of Risk and Indemnification

By utilizing the Service, the User assumes all risks associated with third-party AI-generated outputs, including the risk that outputs may be unpredictable or not align with user expectations. The User agrees to fully defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Story Studio AI, its operators, affiliates, and third-party API providers from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from:

• The User's use of and access to the Service;
• The User's violation of any term of these Terms of Service or any applicable law;
• The User's infringement of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights;
• Any claim that the User's generated content caused damage or legal harm to a third party.

9. Third-Party Rights & Reporting Claims

9.1 Blind Infrastructure & Privacy

Because the Service functions as a private workspace for unpublished drafts (utilizing encrypted storage as detailed in our Privacy Policy), the Platform operates as a "blind processor." We do not and cannot proactively review, access, or verify the contents of a User's private files or generated media. Therefore, we rely on formal reporting to identify violations.

9.2 Reporting Unauthorized Use, Privacy, or IP Violations

If a third party believes a User has utilized the Service to violate their intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or to generate an unauthorized representation of their likeness, they must submit a formal legal claim to the Platform.

Because we cannot independently browse User data to verify claims, a valid takedown notice or law enforcement request must be submitted to our legal support team (via the contact methods in Section 12). Upon receipt of a legally valid report or court order, Story Studio AI will take immediate and appropriate action, which may include the permanent termination of the violating User's account, data preservation, and full cooperation with relevant law enforcement authorities.

The Platform's sole responsibility regarding third-party claims is to act upon valid legal notices in compliance with applicable intermediary liability laws (such as the DMCA in the US or the DSA in the EU).

10. Limitation of Liability

Story Studio AI provides creative tools — analogous to a paintbrush, canvas, or pencil. The User is solely responsible for what they create with these tools.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORY STUDIO AI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM THE USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Service interruptions or technical failures
• Third-party actions or content
• Any content generated by the User through the Service
• Any claims, damages, or disputes arising from User-generated content

Story Studio AI makes no guarantees regarding the availability, accuracy, or reliability of the Service. The Service is used entirely at the User's own risk.

11. Changes to Terms

Story Studio AI reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
