At Story Studio AI, we operate on a transparent pay-per-use credit system. This policy explains our refund practices and the circumstances under which refunds may be granted.
1. General Refund Policy
Credits are non-refundable once consumed.
When you use credits to generate AI content (stories, images, audio), those credits are immediately processed and consumed. Due to the nature of our pay-per-use model and the computational resources involved, consumed credits cannot be refunded.
1.1 Why Credits Are Non-Refundable
Our Service uses real-time AI processing that incurs immediate costs:
- GPU server resources are consumed instantly when generating images
- AI model processing costs are incurred for each text or audio generation
- Generated content is delivered to you immediately
- You retain full ownership and access to all generated content
1.2 You Control Your Spending
Our pay-per-use model gives you complete control:
- You only pay for what you use
- Credits never expire - use them at your own pace
- You can see your credit balance at any time
- Generation costs are shown before you proceed
- You decide when and how to use your credits
2. Exceptions - When Refunds May Be Granted
We may grant refunds or credit adjustments in the following exceptional circumstances:
2.1 Technical Failures
If you experience a documented technical failure where:
- Credits were deducted but no content was generated
- System errors prevented content delivery after payment
- Server outages caused loss of purchased credits
- Bugs in our system resulted in incorrect credit deductions
Action: Contact us immediately at support@story-studio.ai with details of the issue, including timestamps and screenshots if available.
2.2 Unauthorized Charges
If you notice charges that you did not authorize:
- Fraudulent transactions on your account
- Unauthorized credit purchases
- Duplicate charges for the same transaction
Action: Report the unauthorized charge within 30 days of the transaction date. We will investigate and issue a refund if the claim is validated.
2.3 Service Unavailability
If our Service is unavailable for an extended period:
- Prolonged outages that prevent you from using purchased credits
- Service discontinuation announced by Story Studio AI
Action: We will proactively reach out to affected users. In case of service discontinuation, unused credits will be refunded automatically.
3. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will NOT be granted in the following cases:
3.1 User Error or Dissatisfaction
- You don't like the AI-generated content
- Generated images or text don't meet your expectations
- You made a mistake in your prompt or generation settings
- You accidentally clicked "Generate" and consumed credits
- You misunderstood how the Service works
3.2 Change of Mind
- You no longer want to use the Service
- You found an alternative service
- You don't need the credits anymore
Remember: Credits never expire, so you can use them whenever you're ready.
3.3 Account Deletion
- If you delete your account, unused credits are forfeited
- No refunds are provided for unused credits upon account deletion
- Make sure to use your credits before deleting your account
3.4 AI Content Limitations
- AI-generated content may have imperfections or unexpected results
- This is inherent to AI technology and not grounds for a refund
- You can regenerate content using additional credits if unsatisfied
4. How to Request a Refund
4.1 Eligibility Check
Before requesting a refund, ensure your situation qualifies under Section 2 (Exceptions).
4.2 Contact Us
Send an email to support@story-studio.ai with the following information:
- Subject Line: "Refund Request - [Your Name]"
- Account Email: The email associated with your Story Studio AI account
- Transaction Details: Order ID, date of purchase, amount charged
- Reason: Clear description of why you're requesting a refund
- Evidence: Screenshots, error messages, or any supporting documentation
4.3 Timeframe
- Request Window: Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the transaction date
- Response Time: We will review your request and respond within 5-7 business days
- Processing Time: If approved, refunds are processed within 10-14 business days
5. Credit Adjustments (Alternative to Refunds)
In some cases, we may offer credit adjustments instead of monetary refunds:
- Additional credits added to your account
- Bonus credits to compensate for technical issues
- Credit restoration if a system error caused loss
Credit adjustments allow you to continue using our Service without the delay of payment processing. You may request a monetary refund instead if you prefer.
6. Dispute Resolution
6.1 Initial Review
All refund requests are reviewed by our support team. We investigate each case thoroughly and respond with our decision.
6.2 Appeal Process
If your refund request is denied and you disagree with the decision:
- Reply to the denial email with additional information or clarification
- Your case will be escalated to our management team
- We will provide a final decision within 7 business days
6.3 Chargeback Warning
Important: Filing a chargeback with your bank or credit card company without contacting us first may result in:
- Immediate suspension of your account
- Loss of access to all purchased credits
- Permanent ban from the Service
Please contact us first to resolve any billing disputes. We are committed to fair resolution.
7. Credit Expiration Policy
Good News: Credits NEVER Expire!
Unlike many services, your purchased credits remain in your account indefinitely. There are no expiration dates, so you can use them at your own pace without pressure.
8. Fair Use Policy
We reserve the right to deny refunds if we detect:
- Abuse of the refund system (repeated refund requests)
- Fraudulent claims or false information
- Attempts to exploit our Service
- Violation of our Terms of Service
9. Changes to This Refund Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
